Thanks to Pasi Vesenterä, the owner of G. Maclaren and agility sports for keeping Riepu in so excellent shape! Riepu was BOB Veteran in both Shows. He was also BIS-1 veteran of Friday and BIS-2 Veteran in all World Winner Show! Now The Junior Winner -02 from Amsterdam can add also Veteran Winner -title in his merits!
G. Honey Trap finished Slovakian Champion title by winning class in both shows.
G. Globeflower was 2nd in Interra and 1st in WW's Working class.
Junior dog G. Bobbin Lace got exc, but was not placed in class.
Ronald H Menaker from US had 60 entries in Borders and did also BIS Veteran in finals. BIS Vetaran of Friday was done by Andras Korotz.

22-23.8. Busy Weekend
On Saturday G. Globeflower won Working Class and was placed BB-4 in Club Speciality. 67 bitches was entered to Margaret Curtis (Matamba). Straight away from the BB-ring we rushed to harbour and just catched a ferry boat towards Baltic Winner Show in Tallin on Sunday.
Maria showed Stiina to Eeva Rautala as BOS, Baltic Winner -09 and EE CH. Stiina also finished C.I.B -title.
Well done both!
In Speciality G. Ex Minister won dog Intermediate Class and G. Axel Jump 7-9 mnt Dog Puppy Class. Dogs & Pups were judged by Torid Stamnes (Damdyke).

Allu (G. Home-Brew) back in Show Rings
Allu is now a veteran and started to show again. In Stockholm WW-Show he got a new title World Veteran Winner judged by Stewart McPherson. A week after he was BOB Veteran in our Club Speciality by Sally Leslie. 1-3. of Aug. in Kuopio took place 3 x INT Shows. Allu was BOB veteran every day and 1 x BOS, 1 x BD-3 and 1 X BOB.

He got finally the finishing winner result for he's title. In all other competitions owner Pasi Vesenterä has handled Riepu, but in Ylöjärvi he won with Janne Karstunen in huge 157 startes competition.

Rumba G. Shock Wave scored A48 in Working Trials. For finishing Working CH title she has to go check an empty fox hole in the woods. Usually for a Border Terrier it's just a piece of cacke and Rumba passed it easily 26.5.
Her (or her owner's ) main interest is in obedience. Rumba's obedience degree is at the moment BH TK1 TK2. This extremely versatile pair is also training agility pretty seriously. |

She scored highest possible points A50 in the Title finishing trials. She works very clever way, increasing pushing the fox so hard, that he must move back. This is amazing, because Nikita lives in the Center of Helsinki and has seen a fox face to face only in trials! She is very small City Lady, and not at all a freightening hunter!

Congratulations to our Grand Old Gentleman FIN & LUX CH Kelgram Owen Tudor!
Ringo has been healthy during he's entire life. Only age has made him a bit stiff, hearing is very selective but he can see quite well and has lost most of he's teeth. He still goes for a short walk daily, all the way slowly because the nose is working perfectly and he has to study all the local "notes".
He has always been more a "professor" -type than a sporty huntsman. I never forget when we took him to see a fox the first time, couple of weeks after he had arrived to Finland. He challenged the fox to play with him - like he'd said: "Hello, I'm Ringo from England, shall we play something together?"

"Salsa" found a badger hole near our summer cottage. Badger bit her in underjaw very badly. At first, I was optimistic that she will survive, but some days later she got worse. Antibiotic treatment seemed not to be effective enough. Any surgery could not be done.
I had to make the hardest decision in my life, to send her above the rainbow, to the heavenly fox forests.
We all miss her so much, every day. |

"Stiina" received another qualifiacation to the Crufts, now for year 2008. She was placed BB-3 and received ticket no. 2.
G. Skattkammare was BB-2. Stiina's litter sister G. Globetrotter was 3rd in junior class.
My new import "Viisu" Grindstones Hard Rock was entered in her first show (just become 9 mnts) and was placed 4rd in junior class. G. Sea Surge was 3rd in intermediate class. Our Breeder's group was 2nd + HP.
Stiina was really busy during the weekend: she took ferry boat on Saturday evening towards Stockholm and Swedish Winner Show "Hund". She won junior class and was placed BB-4! She even received 3rd qualification to the Crufts! Judge CG Stafberg (Bombax) had entry of about 100 Borders.

We had seven entries of which five was placed: G. Glenmore JUN-4, G. Sea Surge INM-3, G. Home-Brew CH-3 (he was the oldest shown in he's class), G. Globeflower JWW-06, G. Globetrotter JUN-3.

Litter brother won the EJW beauty title but G. Volcanic Force did all the hard and dirty work!
"Hans" got highest possible points B44 and was awarded as the best working dog of the day.
G. No War made also a top score B44, but she did some eager bark in cheking the empty hole.
The judge was convinced both ability of working in two minutes and stopped the trials. Both pushed on the fox extremely hard and a contact would have been obvious. |

Tåpe was BOB in both Shows and received her INT CH -title finishing CACIB. This was her 7th CACIB from 4th country!
Allu (G. Home-Brew) was BD-2 in both Shows.
The couple was travelling this time with their owners Tuula and Sanna only. I had to stay to keep on eye "Chili" (G. Weather Bound) who was due to birth puppies this weekend. Father to coming litter is Terras Trump Card.
On Saturday Chili was delivered of one dog and one bitch puppy, both are red. |

Not too bad idea to have a short brake and couple of dog shows in Tampa, FL in January!

Crufts 2005 - historical
overseas CC Winners
G. Skattkammare "Tåpe" qualified for Crufts year 2003 Winner Show in Helsinki
gaining both titles, The Winner and Junior Winner. Year 2004 she
was not shown so much due her pups. We were abroad only in Bratislava
(BOS) and Brussels (BOB).
Tåpe's win Best of Breed at
Crufs, judged by Arthur Cuthbertson (Ashbrae), is something we
never dreamed in our wildest thoughts. It will take time to realize
what has happened.
Not only BOB to Finland, but BOS
as well to Heathberry's Better By Far was enough to shock our
people!
I would like to send my thanks and
regards worldwide for hundreds of messages and congratulations.

Tuula Salo, the owner of Tåpe and Sanna Leimunen, who handled
both Tåpe, and her own dog G. Home-Brew as RES in Open Dogs.
You made all this possible!

G. No War was Annamaria Tarjan's
(Hungary) Winner and received her first CACIB and 3rd ticket.
Entry was 8 dogs and 12 bitches.
G. Europolitan was Winner of Champion Bitches
and placed Best Bitch-4.
G. Skattkammare was 3rd with EXC in Open Class.
G. Snusgustav was 2nd in Open Dogs and Best
Dog-4.
These four were also our group in Breeder's Class and took the
first place and Honour Prize.

Jackpot in Bratislava 2 x INT Show
Riepu, G. MacLaren finished his INT CH title and Tåpe G. Skattkammare
opened her account of CACIBs
On Saturday BT judge was Slovakian Robert Kanas. Riepu was his
BOB and Tåpe BOS, both received CACIBs and CCs.
In the evening took place Victor Grand Prix Gala in the Main Rings.
About 300 Champions of all breeeds was entered. First all groups
pre-judged by three judges, who all made their own winners list.
Terriers did Elsbeth Clerk, Andrazs Korozs and Damir Skok. In
The Gala they announced the 32 finalists. Riepu was in as one
of the four Terriers! Next move was a play off match, the better
of the two continued. Five judges (Hassi Assenmacher Feyel, Lisbeth
Mach, Uwe Fisher, Franco Ferrari and Tamas Jakke) gave their votes.
You needed three votes of five to beat your concurrant.
Riepu won the first round 4-1 and was in with the group of 16
dogs. He won also the sencond round 5-0 and was one of the 8 semifinalists.
But then he was dropped out from The Grand Final by votes 2-3.
There was also an Internet Show for all Victor entrants. The Internet
Champion is a Black Terrier from Russia. Thanks for all those
who voted to Riepu!
On Sunday's Bratislava Winner Show Elsbeth Clerk did BTs. In the
ring we saw the same 12 dogs as previous day. Riepu was again
BOB (CACIB+CC) and Tåpe BB-2 (RESCACIB+CC).
The day's higlight was Riepu's Group-3 placing by Damir Skok!

No War received her first CC and was placed BB-2 only in the age
of 13 months!
My Trust Handler Sanna showed "Luumu", because I had to keep watch
for Polkagris whelping in any time.

She was entered in Junior Class and won it and the title of Junior
Winner -03. She received her 5th CC and as a winner of BB-class
she gained also Winner -03 title! And qualified for the Crufts
2005...
G. No War was 2nd in Junior Class and received
Res CC.
G. Polkagris won Intermediate Bitches.
G. Home Brew was 2nd in CH-dogs and G.
MacLaren was 4th.
The Breeder's Class 1st achieved by the group Home-Brew, No War,
Skattkammare and Polkagris.

G. Home-Brew continues keeping him in show condition
- in both shows during the weekend he was BOS.
In Mikkeli INT Show only 11 months old bitch G. Skattkammare
(INT CH Hux Flux Bror Brilliant x G. Europolitan) surpised being
BOB and even continuing in group among the first 8 terriers (only
four is placed). Breed Jude was Nicholas White from Ireland.
Nex day in Tuomarinkartano our Judge was Moa Persson from Sweden
and G. Home Brew again catched the BOS podium.

4 x Vadstena INT Show 16-19.2003 July in Sweden
1 x BOB, 1 x BOS, 2 x CACIB, 3 x RES CACIB,
2 x CC, 2 x S CH in four days.
These days were one of "once-in-my-life" things to happen!
Thanks to the Judges, all Swedish Border Terrier people around
the Ring, Show Organizers, our landlady who let us use her house,
our Danish Pudel-friends we shared the house, the sun never stopped
to shine!

"Lauri Vuolasvirta -Award"
The Finnish Kennel Club's highest honours to the Breeders, "Vuolasvirta"
-award, was presended to my Kennel at The Winner Show in Helsinki
on 7th of December. This was the fourth time a Border Terrier
breeder was awarded in Finland.
